We're working with a forward-thinking organisation looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join their team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a pivotal role, partnering closely with the Head of Financial Accounting and influencing decision-making at a strategic level. What You'll Be Doing This is a broad, hands-on financial accounting role with real visibility across the organisation. Key responsibilities include: Supporting the production of statutory accounts and regulatory returns Leading on VAT returns, corporation tax oversight and tax disclosures Coordinating internal and external audits, managing timelines and stakeholder inputs Overseeing implementation of audit recommendations Full balance sheet management, including reconciliations and provisions Supporting development of financial information for internal reporting and statutory submissions Building and refining financial models to inform decision-making Assisting with financial planning and forecasting cycles Maintaining and reporting on the fixed asset register, ensuring compliance with reporting standards and capitalisation policies Supporting the review and update of key financial policies Contributing to month-end, quarter-end and year-end processes Strengthening financial controls and governance across the finance function This is a role for someone who enjoys both technical accuracy and adding commercial insight. What We're Looking For You'll likely be: A qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) Experienced in statutory reporting and regulatory returns Confident managing audits and liaising with external stakeholders Strong on balance sheet control and financial governance Comfortable working to tight timetables Proactive, organised, and detail-driven A confident communicator who can work cross-functionally
