Job Summary: This role is an opportunity to learn a highly skilled trade within engineering and will join our team experienced of welders/fabricators, in a safe, skilled, and quality lead environment. Reporting directly to the workshop build lead, training will be given in all areas of the workshop. The Trainee Workshop Technician will learn and support on the day-to-day activities within the fabrication shop to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to the high standards we are known for and expected by our customers. Although desirable there is no requirement to have any previous qualifications or experience, we are looking for the right individual with the right competencies, skills, and abilities to join our team. Responsibilities Include (training to be provided where applicable): General metal working skills using hand tools. Preparation of materials for welding, cutting, grinding, and cleaning of metal Responsible for assembling and constructing metal components. Operating the Laser cutter Operating a CNC Press Brake Mechanical assembly of fabricated components Product inspection Working to and complying with business process and procedures for Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental Opportunities to learn how to weld (MIG & TIG) Experience, Education & License Requirements: GCSES C and above/Equivalent in Math's and English Must be 18 Opportunities: Following an initial period (approx.) 12 months and demonstrating progression within the outlined responsibilities, opportunities will be available to further enhance skill sets through formal qualification, depending on experience and development this would be: NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication and Welding Code Welding Skills & Abilities: Good communication and written skills Good level of numeracy and literacy Able to work to and follow instructions.
