As an Audio Descriptive Commentator, you will deliver live, detailed, and engaging commentary of matches at the Etihad Stadium and Joie Stadium for blind and visually impaired fans. This role is an opportunity to bring football to life for fans who rely on vivid, real-time descriptions to experience the game. You’ll be the eyes of the crowd, capturing the passion, pace, and atmosphere of the matchday
Your Impact
1. Provide live, descriptive commentary for supporters with limited or no vision during Manchester City matches.
2. Paint a clear picture of on-pitch action, player movements, expressions, kit details, and crowd energy
3. Work with co-commentators or operators to ensure seamless delivery and technical quality
4. Prepare for each match by researching team news, player stats, and current storylines.
5. Uphold the values of Manchester City by ensuring commentary is inclusive, respectful, and engaging.
6. Ensure punctuality and reliability for each scheduled match at either stadium and set up/deliver equipment as required.
7. You'll play a vital part in creating a welcoming, accessible matchday for all fans. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about sport, storytelling, and inclusion — and who wants to make a real difference.
What we are looking for
Essential
* Strong verbal communication and descriptive language skills
* A clear and articulate speaking voice with the ability to adapt tone and tempo
* Good understanding of football and familiarity with Manchester City teams.
* Ability to stay calm and focused during live broadcasts.
* A passion for accessibility and inclusion in sport
* Availability on matchdays (typically evenings and/or weekends).
* Willingness to complete training or shadowing opportunities prior to going live.
Desirable
* Prior commentary, radio, or audio description experience
