The White Lion is a refined Gastro Pub & exemplary Hotel situated within the picturesque Cheshire countryside, in the semi-rural village of Weston. The property is grade II listed building and was originally built in 1652 as a farmhouse. It still retains its original charm and distinctive appearance, full of character adorned with part wooden panelled walls and bay windows. The Role
We now have an opportunity for experienced Bar Manager, becoming part of the exciting bar team, and helping push forward with our plans for future awards, curated cocktail menus and themed nights. This role is available due to our continued success, awards and progress for further venues.
Duties include but will not be limited to:
* Recommend, Prepare & Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks including cocktails
* Record and process all drinks orders and payments accurately into the till system
* Ensure all areas are clean and well-maintained
* Managing and mentoring the bar team
* Pairing wines with the food menu, working closely with the Restaurant Manager to ensure the right blend
* Reviewing reports to look at the best sellers and constantly updating the drinks menu
* Liaising with the head chef and restaurant manager about customers opinion in the beverage choices
* Cash up at the end of the night shift (dependant on your shift), including open and close stock counts
* Represent the company as a senior member of the management team
* Full cellar control, including ordering and monitoring of stock levels
* You are in control of what ales and beers are being ordered, flexibility to try new ales and see what works
About you
* A good team player with the ability to handle a faced paced environment
* You will need to be passionate about creating a great atmosphere and giving guests the best experience
* Good knowledge of wines, beers & spirits and basic knowledge of cocktails would be advantageous
* Experienced in bar management and keen to learn about the business, to progress your career
* Ability to ensure the bar team is friendly, approachable and progressing. The team can range from junior to experienced, you are responsible for managing and developing the best bar team in Cheshire
