We have exciting opportunities for Senior Geotechnical Engineers to join the UK’s largest and most diverse geotechnical and ground engineering contractor. What you'll be doing: Taking the lead on high profile projects such as Rail infrastructure projects, Highways, United Utilties (Water), and Wood Group / M Group (Electricity) frameworks. Managing and supervising geotechnical/geoenvironmental investigations including soil and rock logging, soil and groundwater sampling and in-situ testing ensuring timely and quality delivery. Taking a proactive approach in the responsibility for the Health and Safety of the project ensuring all required documentation in place. Ensuring full communication across all management levels within the project. Attending regular meetings with the client to discuss and appraise the performance of contract. Providing the technical input into tendering and delivery of projects. Managing medium and small projects to ensure project KPIs and deliverables are met. Mentoring and targeting/facilitating the upskilling of engineers in the team. Delivery of geotechnical projects and reports with working knowledge of UK design codes (including EC7 Part 1, and UK annexes), standards and specifications. Making geotechnical recommendations including, earthworks, retaining structures, slopes and outline design of foundations. Using of geotechnical software, such as OpenGround/Holebase to produce deliverables. Holding a basic understanding of UK legislation relating to ground contamination and developing awareness of how risks and liabilities will impact upon land ownership, planning and development would be an advantage. Planning, managing, supervising and interpreting ground investigations and laboratory test results. Any other tasks that you may reasonably be required to undertake. Who we're looking for: Previous experience in managing large, medium and small ground investigation projects. Personable with strong communication and relationship building capabilities. Experience in using Ground Investigation Data Management software such as OpenGround/Holebase/GINT. Experience in the use of other software would be advantageous including settlement analysis and slope stability. Knowledge of good practice in a variety of areas including earthworks, environmental assessment, remediation, coal workings, geotechnical aspects such as slope stability, foundation recommendations. Knowledge of the role of investigation supervisor or contractors responsible engineer. Competent in all Microsoft applications, especially office – Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Experience of working with GIS for GI management purposes is desirable. Experience of effectively managing own priorities and meeting deadlines, in a fast-pace environment. High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Other Requirements: Eligible to work and live in the UK. Flexibility to travel across the UK. A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK Valid CSCS What you’ll get in return: Competitive salary depending on experience. Hours of work are 8.00am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday however flexibility is required 25 days holiday plus bank/public holidays.
