Working for our organisation
Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. We aim to employ a workforce which is representative of this population, and are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief. The Trust believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.
Key aspects include working as an autonomous practitioner, assessing and treating own caseload of patients, with treatment decisions underpinned by postgraduate study of evidence-based treatments and previous experience. You will assess patients with complex presentations, drawing on a wide range of information sources and using clinical reasoning to determine diagnoses and appropriate physiotherapy care plans. You will utilise a wide range of treatment skills to deliver plans, develop discharge plans with the multidisciplinary team, keep accurate treatment records, and provide progress and discharge reports as required. You will also manage clinical risk, work flexibly to provide cover in other clinical areas, and contribute to education and professional development of staff and students.
To gain valid informed consent where applicable and communicate complex information effectively to patients, relatives, and the multidisciplinary team. You will build a network of professional contacts across settings and attend professional meetings as required, remaining actively involved in induction and education of new staff and students.
