To undertake reception and clerical duties for the Early Pregnancy Unit (EPU). To provide an accurate and efficient data entry service of patient information within the EPU service. Support the nursing/midwifery and medical staff as appropriate. To support gynaecology booking and reception.
The post holder requires the ability to work on their own initiative and organise their own workload.
Main duties of the job
1. Arrange all Early Pregnancy clinic and ultrasound appointments using the Careflow and Soliton systems. Ensure that local waiting list times are met and inform the line manager if these times cannot be achieved.
2. Administrative support to the EPU Team. This involves populating spreadsheets and accessing patient records in a timely manner for EPU and, ensuring service users are appropriately entered onto the relevant systems to enable their appointment to run smoothly.
3. Ensure the cancellation of scans and future appointments for patients on this care pathway.
4. Deal with frequent enquires from a variety of sources whilst maintaining a professional and fully functional reception service.
5. Answer the telephone and deal with enquiries as appropriate within a reasonable timescale.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential criteria
16. English Language GCSE grade C or above, or equivalent
Desirable criteria
17. IT qualification
18. Administrative qualification
EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
19. Experience of taking and responding to telephone enquiries from customers and within own organisation and prioritising as necessary
20. Six months experience of working within a customer care environment
21. Experience of using computers in a work environment
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE

22. Computer literate with knowledge of Word and Excel
23. Good communication skills both verbally and written and the ability to readily understand instructions.
24. Demonstrate ability to organise own work load, prioritise and take initiative where necessary
25. Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines whilst retaining accuracy and attention to detail
26. Logical approach to work, thorough and accurate
