Overview
University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Band 3 Therapy Assistant to join our Stroke Therapy team.
The Stroke Therapy service is forward‑thinking, dynamic and well respected. We work as an integrated therapy team comprising occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists and therapy assistants, providing high‑quality assessment and rehabilitation across the stroke patient pathway.
Interview: 25 November 2025.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with the Stroke MDT team to support patients following a stroke with their rehabilitation.
* Provide 1:1 support, group work, and assist qualified therapists to help patients regain independence.
* Assist patients with personal care (toileting, washing, dressing) and other activities of daily living.
* Receive clinical support and training from qualified therapists as part of the wider MDT.
Qualifications
* Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
* Basic IT skills.
* Enthusiasm for supporting people with rehabilitation.
* Ability to work independently and within a close team.
* Previous experience working with people, preferably in a rehab environment.
* Willingness to work weekends (service covers 7 days).

This role may involve relocation as part of the Trust’s New Hospital Programme. Any planned move will be communicated in advance. If the role relocates, employees will not be eligible for excess mileage reimbursement; travel from home will be considered a normal commute.
