Mechanically Biased Engineer – Sherburn-In-Elmet
Location:Sherburn in Elmet
Hours:Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week (overtime available)
Contract:Permanent, Full-Time
The Role
We are looking for a mechanically biased Engineer to join our depot team in Sherburn in Elmet. This is a hands-on role where you will play a key part in keeping depot equipment safe, reliable, and ready for hire.
You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment, diagnosing faults, and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the depot. You will report to the Depot Manager and work closely with Depot Managers, Field Service Engineers, Drivers, and Valeters.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out in-house fault diagnosis, repairs, and planned maintenance on depot equipment
* Monitor and maintain parts stock levels to ensure availability
* Accurately record job details and parts usage on the works mobile tablet
* Provide support to other depots when required
* Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised working environment
* Comply with all company policies and health and safety procedures
* Undertake additional duties as required by the Depot Manager
About You
* Proven experience in a similar engineering or maintenance role
* Strong mechanical knowledge
* Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others
* Ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
* Flexible to travel to other depots when required
