Site Engineer – Sub Contractor (Construction - Drainage / Groundworks / Housing) East Midlands (Grantham) £280 - £320 / Day without own site engineering kit £320 - £360 / Day with own site engineering kit Temporary / Freelance Role The Company 360 Recruitment are currently working with a leading construction sub contractor who are looking to recruit an experienced site engineer with or without their own kit for a minimum of 12 weeks working on a new build housing site close to Grantham which commences on or around the 2nd June 2025. They work in the drainage, groundworks and housing sector across the construction industry including health, education, commercial, residential and student accommodation projects. The freelance Site Engineer Role Reporting to a visiting Contracts Manager and site based Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the site engineer's duties on a daily basis for the project. Previous experience of site engineering on residential new build housing sites including groundworks, drainage, 278 works, etc would be beneficial. Duties include: Setting out of works inc drainage, foundations, brickwork, 278 works Carrying out surveys – tender stage, as builts Working as part of the site team and liaising with site management and QS and consultants/design team Quality management of works on site and accurate keeping of records/surveys Provide technical advice to the site team Ensuring construction on site is as per drawings and spec Assisting in the management of Health and Safety Overseeing packages of works on site i.e groundworks, drainage, 278 works, housing etc. Skills: CSCS (essential) SMSTS or SSSTS (beneficial) 1st Aid at Work (beneficial) AutoCAD trained Trained in the use of Total Station and engineering equipment. Temporary works training The freelance Site Engineer Package On offer is an attractive day rate of up to £320 for a site engineer with no kit DOE and up to £360 for a site engineer with their own kit DOE.
