We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

Shift Pattern & Working Hours

The shift pattern for this post is Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00. Effective 1 April 2026, the full‑time working hours for all Agenda for Change posts will be reduced to 36 hours.

Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Service Development Officer within the Older People’s and South Planning Team. This pivotal role supports a broad and evolving portfolio of strategic activity, including Older People’s services, the newly established NHSGGC Interface Division, and the emerging priorities within the HSCP Deputy Chief Officer’s Strategy and Innovation workplan. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing designated service improvement workstreams. This will involve applying robust project management methodologies, conducting detailed data analysis, and handling complex datasets to inform decision‑making. The role also includes undertaking research and audit activities, synthesising findings, and producing evidence‑based recommendations for service redesign and improvement. A key aspect of the post is the ability to interpret and analyse quantitative and qualitative data to support performance reporting and evaluation. The post‑holder will be expected to develop and maintain performance systems that enable the tracking of key performance indicators, outcomes, and impact measures across services. High‑level analytical skills and proficiency in presenting data in a clear and meaningful way are essential. The role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high‑quality reports and presentations that translate complex information into actionable insights for a range of stakeholders. The post‑holder will work collaboratively across Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership, with other HSCP areas, and acute services. Fostering strong relationships to support integrated service development.
