Senior Manager: Sustainable Infrastructure and Change and Org Design, EY People Consulting UK

At EY, we’ll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go. Join EY and help to build a better working world.

The opportunity

Advising clients on their most complex sustainable infrastructure challenges is a core focus for EY and spans multiple sectors and competencies. We are focussed on growing our sustainable infrastructure programme and large‑scale transformation delivery across a wide range of clients in sectors including government, transport, energy and utilities, housing and telecommunications. We want people who are passionate about sustainability and climate change and who are keen to help clients realise decarbonisation and energy‑transition ambitions.

We look to grow our overall presence across the infrastructure sector and be involved in the design, development and delivery of significant programmes under the recently published UK Infrastructure 10 Year Strategy.

We seek a Senior Manager level consultant with experience leading business change and organisation design in infrastructure.

Your Key Responsibilities

* Active member of the wider leadership team to define project scope and execute delivery with clients, consulting teams and wider stakeholders.
* Independently analyse complex problems and present solutions to clients and the wider team.
* Own and manage relationships with senior infrastructure clients to contribute to business development and enhance EY’s brand and reputation.
* Structure and manage projects and programmes of transformation.
* Manage project commercials, risks and issues.
* Bring expertise from previous experience to test, shape and challenge our approaches to project delivery.
* Lead teams and develop our people to help them reach their potential.
* Build strong relationships, especially with peers and leaders from client organisations and across the EY network.
* Build our business and generate profitable revenue by winning work through fostering strong client relationships, account leadership and leading/contributing to proposals.
* Contribute innovative ideas to expand our People Consulting service and infrastructure service offerings to clients and positively impact client engagements.
* Keep up to date on relevant infrastructure market trends, key functional and technical skills and proactively share this knowledge with the infrastructure community.
* Be an active leader in the EY Workforce Advisory Community and the EY UK&I Infrastructure Community, assist with the integration and inclusion of team members and operate as part of a high‑performing team.
* Visibly demonstrate our values through day‑to‑day behaviours and challenge where these are not demonstrated in others.
* Contribute to EY’s positioning across the UK (and global) infrastructure market through an active social media presence and thought‑leadership development.

Skills And Attributes For Success

* Comfortable leading in a virtual environment – both with the team and with clients.
* Curious, confident and able to think creatively, using agile methods and innovative approaches to tackle complex problems and deliver insightful, practical and sustainable solutions.
* High emotional intelligence, able to build trusted relationships through effective communication and stakeholder management, including the ability to empathise, actively listen, identify non‑verbal cues and translate client needs into actions.
* Inclusive, encouraging collaboration among team members, nurturing and encouraging talent to improve capability, especially amongst more junior members.
