Student Support / Pastoral Assistant Location: Salford Start Date: Jan 2026 Hours: Full-time, Term-Time Only Contract: Long-term with potential to become permanent About the Role: We are recruiting a Student Support / Pastoral Assistant for a local school in Salford. This role focuses on supporting students' wellbeing, helping them stay engaged in learning, and building positive, trusting relationships. You will be a consistent point of contact for students who may need extra encouragement, reassurance, or emotional support throughout the school day. Key Responsibilities: Build positive relationships and offer pastoral and emotional support to students Provide calm guidance during challenging or stressful situations Work closely with teaching and pastoral teams Encourage student attendance, positive behaviour and engagement Acknowledge and celebrate student progress What We're Looking For: Patient, empathetic and resilient Strong communication skills Able to stay calm under pressure Experience working with young people (schools, youth work, coaching, support roles, childcare etc.) You do not need school experience - training will be provided.
