Are you a hands-on leader who’s comfortable using insight to guide decisions and deliver meaningful improvements?
DN Colleges Group is seeking an Interim Assistant Principal to provide strategic and operational leadership across our student recruitment, admissions, and marketing functions.
We are moving quickly to fill this vital position. While this role begins on an interim basis to accelerate progress in a key area, we are committed to ensuring long-term stability in this function, and future opportunities may arise as our structure develops.
The Role: We need someone who brings ambition, support, partnership and innovation to the table - someone who can understand priorities quickly and help our teams move forward with confidence.
You are expected to travel both sites (North Lindsey College and Doncaster College)
Your key responsibilities will include:
· Strategic Growth: Developing and embedding a unified, insight-led recruitment and marketing strategy that aligns with our mission and directly drives growth in student numbers.
· Operational Excellence: Strengthening our admissions processes, CRM utilisation, digital channels (including SEO, paid campaigns, and social media), and event follow-ups to optimise the end-to-end prospective student journey.
· People Leadership: Providing visible, motivational leadership to our multi-disciplinary marketing, recruitment, admissions, events, and employer engagement teams, shaping a culture where people feel empowered to improve, adapt and move forward together.
· Stakeholder Engagement: Building strong, strategic partnerships with feeder schools, MATs, community groups, and employers.
About You
We are looking for an ambitious, proactive, and solutions-focused professional who aligns with our core ASPIRE values (Ambition, Support, Partnership, Innovation, Responsibility, Equality).
You should bring:
· Leadership experience in marketing, student recruitment, and/or admissions within Further Education (FE), Higher Education (HE), or a similarly complex organisation.
· A proven track record of delivering measurable growth in student numbers and performance improvement or evidence of delivering sustained growth and performance improvements in a recruitment, engagement, or customer-facing context.
· High-level analytical skills, with a strong understanding of digital marketing, CRM pipelines, and the ability to translate data into actionable, high-impact campaigns.
· An undergraduate degree (or equivalent professional experience) and evidence of recent, relevant CPD in leadership, strategy, or digital transformation.
