We are seeking a proactive and well-organised People and Development Administration Officer to join our team. You will provide support to the HR People and Development team. This is a varied and rewarding position, ideal if you enjoy working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable adapting to shifting priorities.


Job description


The main things you will be doing are:

* Providing recruitment support through administration of creating and posting job advertisements, effective liaison with Hiring Managers to ensure sifts and interviews are properly administered including updating of Oleoo database with scores and outcomes.
* Tracking onboarding check outcomes, ensuring that prospective staff have the right to work at the organisation, issuing contracts and managing a new starter's experience on joining the Commission and preparing new starter Inductions.
* Process all staff rewards through the rewards portal and prepare weekly STARs meeting information.
* Inbox handling (HR and L&D)- First line resolution where possible in line with established guidance and checklists- otherwise triage to appropriate point of contact.
* Budget support- raising requisitions, processing invoices and maintaining the HR and Learning & Development budgets tracker.

* Good organisational skills and ability to follow procedure
* To communicate effectively with internal and external contacts ensuring the right message is delivered
* To make good decisions based on the facts in front of you
* To learn new tasks and IT systems
* Ability to deal with confidential information and maintain confidentiality

Experience:

* Work collaboratively, effectively and flexibly within a team and contribute towards team success
* Demonstrate effective communication skills treating customers and colleagues with respect and taking personal responsibility to deliver excellent customer service
* Efficiently completing tasks to deadlines
* Working effectively under pressure to required deadlines

Technical:

* Effective use of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel both creating and updating documents to a high standard
* Understanding the importance of excellent customer service

Selection process details


This vacancy is using Success Profiles, and will assess your Behaviours, Strengths, Ability and Experience.

* An online verbal test at application stage
* A blind CV setting out your Job History/Full Qualifications/Previous skill and experiences.
* A Personal Statement (maximum 750 words) demonstrating how you meet the essential criteria for the role outlined on the Job Description.

We will assess your CV and Personal Statement against the Essential criteria for the role.

Online Test

After submission of the first stage of your application you will be invited to complete a Civil Service Verbal Test. If you successfully pass the test, you will be invited to complete the final stage of the application.

Please complete the online tests as soon as possible (within 24-48 hours is recommended), the closing date for the tests is 22/09/2025 on 23:55 If you fail to complete the online test before the deadline your application will be withdrawn. Guidance for the test will be available when you are invited to take the test. The tests are administered online and accessed via the CS Jobs website.

Our online test supplier will be performing scheduled maintenance between 4:00pm and 7:00pm on Sunday 14th September 2025 There will be up to 1 hour during this time where candidates will not be able to access tests.

Impact for candidates

Candidates who are taking a test when the downtime starts will have their test paused. They will be able to pick up where they left off after the downtime. They can do this by accessing the test again from their application centre.

Candidates will not be able to launch new tests during the downtime.

Interview Arrangements

Interviews will be taking place Face to Face in our Liverpool office.

The sift is due to take place on the week commencing 22nd September 2025

Interviews will be held week commencing 6th October.

We will try to meet the dates set out in the advert. There may be occasions when these dates change. You will be provided with sufficient notice of the confirmed dates.

At the interview, the panel can then probe further and ask applicants to provide further specific examples that show how they best demonstrate their skills.

We reserve the right to raise the score required at any stage of the process to manage numbers.
