The Trust is seeking a fulltime consultant psychiatrist to join our inpatient multidisciplinary team on Ruby ward, a 17-bedded female acute ward in Aylesbury. The vacancy has arisen due to a colleague leaving the organization.
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate their ability to adapt to the changing circumstances of modern mental healthcare provision and show an interest in working with people with severe mental illness and complex emotional needs. We welcome applications from highly motivated colleagues to work collaboratively with our team managers and contribute to the leadership and clinical expertise of our highly skilled multidisciplinary teams.
There are extensive opportunities for teaching and training medical students, postgraduate doctors, multidisciplinary team members, and other service providers, as well as for appraising and mentoring consultant colleagues.
Applicants must be fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and on the Specialist Register or be within six months of attaining their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or an equivalent approved indicator of training.

Person Specification
QUALIFICATIONS
* Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or an equivalent qualification (in accordance with Royal College of Psychiatrists' guidelines).
* Approved Clinician (AC) status and Section 12 (MHA) approval are essential. Candidates in the process of obtaining AC approval will be considered.
* Higher degree or equivalent in relevant medical, psychological, or other studies.
Training
* Higher specialist training in psychiatry in an approved training post for at least three years, equivalent training abroad, or relevant previous consultant experience.
* CCT in Psychiatry; OR inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register in psychiatry; OR within six months of achieving CCT at interview.
* Sub-specialty or other relevant clinical training.
Clinical Experience
* Excellent knowledge in the specialty.
* Experience working collaboratively with social care and other agencies.
* Application of evidence-based practice and interest in clinical and policy developments for this care group.
Skills and Knowledge
