This is a great opportunity to join our dedicated QSSHE team at Perenco, where you will be responsible for delivering the Occupational Hygiene program.
The primary focus of this role is the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of workplace health risks across Perenco UK operations in the Southern North Sea. A key part of the role involves continual improvement and standardisation of monitoring, auditing, and reporting systems. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with statutory provisions, industry guidelines, and promoting a positive approach to workplace health risks.
This position is based in our Norwich office, working Monday to Friday, with some travel to offshore and onshore sites as required.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Collaborate with medic/HSEA’s and operational teams to review Health Risk Assessments, identifying hazard categories, hazards, health impacts, routes of entry, and required monitoring or surveillance programs.
* Implement occupational hygiene plans related to chemical, physical, biological, psychosocial, and ergonomic exposures, including but not limited to:
* Hazardous Substance Management and COSHH risk assessments
* Chemical workplace exposure monitoring (e.g., benzene, toluene, xylene, mercury, lead, solvents, welding fumes, toxic gases)
* Asbestos management and surveys
* Noise and vibration management and assessments
* Radiation management and assessments
* Thermal hazard assessments
* Potable water management
* Communicable diseases, mould, animal/insect hazards, DSE, fatigue
• Develop and recommend control strategies.
• Monitor and evaluate control measures such as LEV, PPE, RPE testing, and inspections.
• Deliver occupational hygiene training sessions.
• Conduct assurance processes, including inspections and audits, across all operational sites, including support centers and NUIs, covering occupational health and hygiene standards.
• Maintain calibration systems for occupational hygiene equipment.
Key Requirements Include:
* Occupational Hygienist working towards or holding BOHS Certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene.
* At least 2 years of experience in occupational hygiene, with knowledge of measurement techniques.
* Strong drive and passion for championing workplace health and influencing management and staff.
* Excellent communication skills for presentations and reporting.
* Ability to meet deadlines and produce high-quality work.
