Join the National Oceanography Centre as an AUV Assembly Technician.
The Marine Autonomous and Robotic Systems (MARS) group at National Oceanography Centre develops, operates and maintains the UK’s marine science robotic fleet. The fleet consists of AUVs, subsea gliders, unmanned surface vehicles, ROV and Towed Underwater Vehicles.
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assembly Technician to join our production team in building cutting-edge marine robotic vehicles. In this role, you will be responsible for the hands-on assembly, wiring, integration, and testing of complex electro-mechanical systems designed for use in harsh underwater environments.
About you
You are an experienced technician looking to apply your skills to ocean robots. You will have:
* At least two years’ experience as a technician in a university, research or industry environment.
* A relevant technical certification or relevant degree.
* Proficiency in assembling complex systems following manufacturing drawings and documented procedures.
* A proven ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.

Location
This position will be based in Southampton. The centre is well connected by public transport and has ample cycle parking in addition to free onsite car-parking with over 40 EV charging points.
