Introduction
As a Senior Manager or existing Deputy Hospital Director with extensive experience in mental illness/complex care needs, this is your opportunity to join our team at Thornford Park Hospital in Thatcham. You will have the chance to build the team around you, shape the culture, and positively influence how the service is operated.
You will support the Hospital Director in leading the service, with responsibilities for managing teams and projects, and serving as a lead for ensuring quality across the hospital.
As a Deputy Hospital Director, you should have previous project management experience, as you will oversee hospital functions. You will also deputise for the Hospital Director and attend internal and external meetings with key stakeholders.
In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the service's success. Reporting to the Hospital Director, you will support the development and delivery of a high-quality, bespoke pathway of care for service users.
To be successful as a Deputy Hospital Director, you will need:
* Multiple years of senior management experience in a mental health setting
* Evidence of management/leadership training and a willingness for further development
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Experience managing clinical and operational teams and fostering a positive work environment
* The ability to handle multiple issues simultaneously in a dynamic environment
* Awareness of the wider healthcare economy and political landscape
* A thorough understanding of statutory regulations
* Ability to oversee and deliver site projects
* Experience in a mental health setting, with knowledge of regulatory processes and the CQC
* Up-to-date knowledge of legislation related to the patient group
* Audit and compliance experience within a clinical setting

You will work at Thornford Park, a 141-bed independent hospital supporting service users requiring medium and low secure forensic mental health services, including a PICU mental health service.
The service offers an internal care pathway supporting recovery and rehabilitation. Working with a multidisciplinary team, you will provide personalized assessment and treatment programs for males with mental illness/complex needs, personality disorders, and both females and males in a PICU setting.
