About the Role

As a Process & General Operator, you’ll be a key player in delivering high-quality components that power our cutting-edge solutions. Working collaboratively with a skilled team, you’ll complete secondary manufacturing processes that ensure our products meet rigorous quality, cost, and schedule targets.
What You’ll Do:
1. Perform essential secondary operations on machined components, including sub-assembly, mechanical and hand finishing, protective coatings, and non-destructive testing, contributing directly to product excellence.
2. Work as part of a close-knit team, actively supporting continuous improvement initiatives that optimize processes and enhance quality.
3. Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering teams to uphold the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
4. Maintain and care for your tools, equipment, and workspace, ensuring a clean, safe, and organized environment.
5. Take ownership of production records and demonstrate your ability to work independently when required.
6. Step in to help other areas across the facility as part of a flexible and supportive team environment.
7. Engage in your career development through regular reviews and training, growing your skills and expertise within a global technology leader.
Who You Are:
8. You possess a strong foundation with GCSEs in Mathematics, English, Science, and Technology (Grade C or above).
9. You’re a reliable and motivated team player who takes pride in producing quality work and is willing to take initiative.
10. Ideally, you bring some hands-on experience in mechanical finishing, assembly, protective coatings, or non-destructive testing.
11. You understand the basics of engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions and have a keen interest in Lean manufacturing and business improvement practices.
12. Flexible and adaptable, you’re open to shift work and supporting activities across different Thales sites.

Due to the nature of the work that we do at Thales, many of our roles are subject to security restrictions.
This role requires Security Clearance (SC). It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment. Please visit the UKSV website for further guidance.
To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
