Provide online and remote planning advice on general and specific matters
Prepare for customer meetings by reviewing local planning policy, site history, and planning constraints
Produce summaries and detailed consultancy reports with policy references, advice, and recommendations
Complete delegated and committee planning application reports to KPI targets, including Household Extensions, Lawful Development Certificates, Prior Notifications, Advertisement Consents, and Changes of Use
Communicate and negotiate with applicants, agents, and internal teams
Update internal systems with case details, reports, site visits, and enquiry records
Attend team meetings and one-to-one case conferences
Follow guidance from the Planning Services Manager to meet daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs
Maintain productivity, accuracy, efficiency, and right-first-time delivery
Undertake other duties within the scope of the roleCandidate requirements
Essential
BA degree or RTPI-certified planning qualification
Confident providing planning advice to professionals, customers, and the public
Strong time management and ability to meet strict deadlines in a team environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to analyse plans against local, regional, and national policy and produce clear, concise recommendationsDesirable
At least 6 months planning application experience
Experience working in a Local Planning Authority or private sector setting
