Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant — Location: Northumberland — Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive educational setting in Morpeth. This full-time role is ideal for someone with a strong background working with neurodiverse children across EYFS, KS1, KS2 or KS3. You will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop social and emotional skills, and thrive in a nurturing learning environment.
Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to neurodiverse pupils in small groups or 1:1 settings.
* Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
* Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
* Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing.
Requirements
* Previous experience working with neurodiverse children in an educational setting.
* Knowledge of SEN strategies and interventions.
* A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Relevant qualifications or training in SEN (desirable but not essential).
