Mott MacDonald Bentley is a fully integrated design and build business combining Mott MacDonald's design expertise with JN Bentley's contracting experience to deliver award-winning projects. With an annual turnover exceeding £500 million, we position ourselves as a leader in the industry. We have joined a partnership with Northumbrian Water’s Living Water Enterprise to deliver large-scale construction programmes in AMP8 and beyond, supporting a £3.6bn workload.
Northumbrian Water supplies water and sewerage services to just under 4.4 million people and has worked closely with MMB and JN Bentley since 2001. This contract will extend the relationship to at least 2030 and involves undertakings across the North East.
Role: Electrical Engineer Project Leader
You will contribute to projects that significantly impact the environment and communities. Working primarily in the UK water market, MMB provides feasibility, design, construction and commissioning services to keep water flowing and wastewater treated. You will work on projects that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of water and wastewater treatment systems. This role blends elements of traditional project management and design engineering, offering a unique environment to grow toward chartership or broaden cross-discipline expertise.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a project team alongside a Site Manager and Quantity Surveyor to ensure technical, constructability and commercial considerations are integrated throughout project delivery.
* Lead the design of treatment or infrastructure projects from outline through detailed design, construction, commissioning and handover.
* Coordinate the project team including civil, electrical, mechanical and process designers, BIM modelers and technical specialists to deliver designs on programme, within budget, and to required quality standards.
* Undertake design in own discipline and mentor less experienced colleagues where appropriate.
* Build positive relationships with the client’s project, operational and technical assurance teams and promote a "one-team" approach.
What you'll need
* Degree in Engineering.
* Working towards professional qualification.
* A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region.
