Who are we looking for?
Burton and South Derbyshire College is seeking to appoint a well-organised, committed and enthusiastic individual to join our Learner Services Team.
We are seeking to recruit a Security Welfare Officer to work at our Stephen Burke Construction Academy, Swadlincote. The role is primarily focused on maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff, visitors, and college property.
This role plays a key part in maintaining a safe, secure, and supportive learning environment for our students, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will provide a highly visible, professional security presence across campus, helping to deter anti-social behaviour and respond effectively to incidents as they arise.
In addition to security responsibilities, the role plays an important part in supporting the welfare and safeguarding of learners, working proactively to ensure students feel safe, supported, and able to engage positively in college life.
This is a varied role requiring strong communication skills, sound judgement, and the ability to engage calmly and professionally with a diverse college community.
This is a frontline, student facing role that requires excellent communication skills, a calm and approachable manner, and an understanding of the needs of a diverse FE learner population.
