Plant Fitter – Mobile & Workshop Based
Location: North West
Salary: £18–£22 per hour (depending on NVQ level)
Hours: 40.5 hours per week + overtime
Type: Full-time, Permanent
We are currently recruiting for a qualified Plant Fitter (NVQ Level 2 or 3) to join a well-established engineering team supporting a nationwide hire fleet.
You will work alongside an experienced engineer carrying out maintenance, breakdowns, and demonstration work on a range of hydraulic and diesel-driven machinery, including Scania engine-powered mobile shredders. The role offers a mix of workshop and field-based work.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintenance and repair of heavy plant and mobile machinery
* Breakdown diagnostics and fault finding (engines, electrics, hydraulics)
* Field-based service work across the UK (excluding Ireland and Scotland)
* Supporting machine demonstrations where required
Requirements
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plant Maintenance / Heavy Vehicle / Engineering
* Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrics
* Willingness to travel and stay away overnight when required
* Full UK driving licence preferred
