An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Manager to oversee two small, Ofsted-registered childrens residential homes supporting young people aged 1117 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) .
Youll lead both services to deliver safe, nurturing, and therapeutic care ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and achieving the highest standards of practice. This is a senior leadership role suited to an ambitious and compassionate manager ready to take the next step in their career.
Both homes provide a warm, family-style environment where children and young people are supported to grow emotionally, socially, and educationally, with one home already rated Good by Ofsted.
Key Responsibilities
Provide operational leadership across both homes, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and child-centred culture.
Recruit, train, and develop staff to maintain a motivated, skilled, and compassionate team.
Lead on Ofsted compliance, inspections, and quality improvement.
Oversee safeguarding, behaviour management, and care planning in line with regulations.
Manage budgets, resources, and the physical upkeep of both homes.
Maintain accurate reports and records for regulatory and internal use.
Build positive relationships with local authorities, schools, healthcare professionals, and families.
Provide regular performance updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Respond effectively to any safeguarding or welfare concerns.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
Proven experience in residential childcare, ideally managing multiple homes or large teams.
Excellent understanding of Childrens Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted frameworks .
Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
Experience supporting children with EBD or complex behavioural needs .
Commitment to trauma-informed, child-centred care.
