About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to help students overcome barriers to learning. You will provide targeted academic and emotional support, helping pupils stay engaged in lessons and build confidence in their abilities.
Responsibilities:
* Provide in-class support to students across KS3 and KS4.
* Work one-to-one or in small groups to support learning and progress.
* Assist teachers in delivering structured and engaging lessons.
* Support students with additional learning needs and SEMH challenges.
* Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
* Encourage independence, confidence, and resilience in learners.
* Monitor and record student progress and engagement.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience working with young people in a school or educational setting preferred.
* Understanding of secondary curriculum and classroom environments.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patient, calm, and supportive approach to learning support.
* Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
* Flexible and adaptable to meet diverse learning needs.
