Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Driver to transport children safely to and from various locations, including schools, state nurseries and extracurricular activities. The job will commence at 11.30am and finish at 3.30pm Monday to Friday.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a strong understanding of childhood development. This role requires excellent communication skills, patience, and the ability to manage behavior effectively while ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all passengers.
Responsibilities
* Safely transport children to designated locations while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
* Ensure the well-being of children during transit by providing supervision and engaging them in positive interactions.
* Assist children with boarding and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their safety at all times.
* Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, conducting regular inspections to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
* Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and staff regarding transportation schedules and any concerns that may arise.
* Implement behavior management strategies as needed to support children's emotional and social development during transport.
* Collaborate with educators and caregivers to support children's individual needs, including those with disabilities or special educational requirements.
Requirements
* Experience working with children in various settings such as daycare, preschool, or classroom environments is preferred but not necessary.
* Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in caregiving for preschool-aged children and school age children.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with children, parents, and staff members.
* First aid certification is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
* Ability to manage behavior effectively while providing a nurturing environment for children during transport.
* Previous experience in roles such as nannying or babysitting is beneficial.
