JOB TITLE: Project Manager (Electrical) DEPARTMENT: Engineering REPORTING TO: Capital Projects Manager HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 hours per week Monday Friday, 09:00-17:00, with flexibility About the Job In 2023 Belfast International Airport announced a development program valued at £100M. To date, the capital projects team have successfully delivered >£35M in projects. The existing engineering and projects team will be enhanced by the addition of a Project Manager (Electrical) to assist with the implementation of this capital program. The next phases of works require an Electrical Engineer to lead projects involving the airports electrical infrastructure as well as contributing to projects involving the airports other systems. The successful candidates primary project will be to manage the increased electrification of the airport estate and increased controls around energy efficiency. This is fundamental to VINCI Airports decarbonisation commitments and promotion of sustainable airport operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in the airports future, reporting to the Capital Projects Manager, supporting the planning and execution of strategically important projects within a live airport operational environment. Job Purpose The job holder will primarily be responsible for assisting the Capital Projects Manager in delivering Electrical & Systems Specific projects as well as Building & Civil Engineering projects. These will include, but not be limited to, upgrades, reconfigurations, new builds, fit out and refurbishment. Main Duties Manage design, delivery and commissioning of projects in an airport environment. Develop plans for scope, schedule, budget and resources. Work with tender and pre-construction teams to make sure requirements are met. Manage the design, drawings and approvals process in line with programme. Make sure projects comply with regulations and specifications. Establish and maintain quality systems to ensure high standards are met. Support on site team and enforce H&S and safe systems of work. Collaborate with clients, contractors and internal teams to ensure clear communication. Monitor progress against targets. Support QS with review of changes to contract and valuations of work. Host and attend progress and technical meetings. Organise the workflow, guide team through projects. Assist in the preparation and ongoing monitoring of operational and capital annual budgets. Undertake post project reviews and ensure that all learnings are recorded and incorporated into to future projects. Assist in all emergency incident management situations as directed by the Operations Duty Management Team. Participate in crisis management/business recovery procedures which in exceptional circumstances can result in being called in in the event of a major incident. Ensure that all Statutory and Company regulations regarding health and safety, fire and security are followed to protect airport users, staff members and the business interests of the Company. Uphold the companys information security policies and procedures, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company data. Any intellectual property created in the course of employment shall remain the property of the company. Ability to work flexible hours to facilitate any out of hours activity as and when required. Essential Criteria KNOWLEDGE Minimum of UK Level 6 qualification or equivalent Qualification in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering with a speciality such as electronics or communications Full current driving licence & own transport CSCS, CSR, SafePass or equivalent construction industry card EXPERIENCE Minimum 5 years experience as Project Manager on medium to large scale construction projects Experience of managing contractors and /or consultants Experience of managing and reporting project commercial performance Experience of contract administration Experience with HV, MV and LV systems Experience with communications systems KNOWLEDGE Operational knowledge of current UK H&S regulations applicable to construction works Operational knowledge of IET Wiring Regulations, 18th Edition Amendment 2 (BS7671:2018+A2:2022) Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools High degree of competency in Microsoft office suite BEHAVIOURS High level of professionalism and ethics Have the ability to: Problem solve Influence others Deliver results Solution focused Plan & maintain direction Work together with team/ other departments/customers, etc Be customer focused Communicate effectively Manage finance /budgets Please refer to the job description and person specification for full details of the job duties and essential/desirable criteria.
