Job Purpose
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Programme Tutor for Education & Early Years to join our team on a temporary fixed-term contract for maternity cover, lasting up to 1 year. The successful candidate will support our mission to ensure that learners are at the centre of everything we do. You will contribute positively to the learner experience and the individual success of our students.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a Programme Tutor for a caseload of students, engaging in data analysis and target setting to raise standards in retention and achievement.
* Deliver high-quality teaching and tutorials on a range of courses within Education & Early Years.
* Implement innovative and creative teaching and learning techniques, including the use of new and emerging technologies.
* Manage and maintain student morale and discipline, ensuring an appropriate learning environment.
* Record and report data and information accurately and in a timely manner, including eILPs, registers, assessments, and student progress records.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of academic/vocational subjects and develop links with industry.
* Contribute to safeguarding and equality and diversity initiatives.
* Liaise with course teams, student support teams, and parents/carers as appropriate.
* Cover classes for absent colleagues where necessary.
* Monitor student absences and behaviour, taking appropriate action as required.
* Attend parents’ evenings and promotional activities such as open events and information evenings.
Qualifications And Experience
* Hold a relevant Education & Childcare qualification.
* Minimum grade C/4 GCSE in Maths and English (or equivalent).
* Assessor/IQA qualification or willingness to work towards it.
* Experience working with children and young people in early years and education settings.
* Experience delivering NCFE/CACHE qualifications in Childcare & Education.
* Experience delivering exam-based qualifications.
Personal Qualities
* Excellent team-working skills with a record of working co-operatively to achieve individual and team goals.
* Efficient communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
* Very good administrative and organisational skills, including the use of IT.
* Experience using Microsoft Teams and ProSolution/ProMonitor recording systems.
