Your new company HMP Huntercombe is a Category C men's prison located near Nuffield in Oxfordshire and is operated by His Majesty's Prison Service. It exclusively holds foreign national offenders, primarily those awaiting deportation, and has a capacity of around (Apply online only) inmates. Your new role As a Plumber / Mechanical Engineer (Level 2), you will be responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance across plumbing, heating, and mechanical systems. You will be required to carry out installations, testing, commissioning, repairs, and fault-finding to ensure systems operate safely and reliably. Your role will also involve undertaking survey inspections-including at height and in confined spaces-maintaining accurate logs, supervising contractors and prisoners where required, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and supporting the effective running of the estate. You will play a key part in maintaining service levels, managing stock, contributing to local improvement initiatives, and maintaining excellent relationships with clients and stakeholders.
