Branch Manager – South West Merchant Location: South West Region Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £50,000 PA Benefits Simon Acres Recruitment are proud to be working on behalf of a respected, national merchant to appoint an experienced and driven Branch Manager for their South West operation. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially focused leader to take full operational and P&L responsibility for a dynamic and growing branch. You will be responsible for leading a team, shaping the strategic direction of the branch, and ensuring the delivery of outstanding customer service, strong safety culture, and financial performance. Key Responsibilities: Take full ownership of branch operations, performance, and profitability Lead, coach, and mentor a team to ensure high levels of engagement and productivity Develop and execute a strategic business plan to meet and exceed branch targets Ensure compliance with all safety standards, fostering a strong health & safety culture Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders Monitor market trends and competitor activity to drive competitive advantage Maintain robust financial, legal, and operational governance Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the branch Create and implement a clear succession and people development plan Ensure successful delivery of new business initiatives and operational improvements The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Minimum 2 years' management experience, ideally within the merchant or construction sector Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams Strong commercial awareness and understanding of P&L management Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strategic thinking with the ability to translate ideas into action Analytical and problem-solving abilities Confident decision-maker with strong delegation skills Stakeholder and customer relationship management expertise A passion for health & safety and continuous improvement High levels of self-awareness, resilience, and initiative Values & Behaviours: Committed to building a winning culture and empowering team success Demonstrates a can-do attitude with determination to drive results Passionate about operational excellence and safe working practices Embraces accountability and ownership of performance Motivated by personal development and team growth Measures of Success: Achieving and exceeding financial performance targets Safe and legally compliant branch operations Effective management of costs, resources, and assets Building a positive and high-performing team culture Successful talent mapping and succession planning If you are a confident and commercially focused leader with the drive to make a lasting impact in the merchant sector, we want to hear from you!
