Senior Quantity Surveyor - Scotland
Location: Based in our Glasgow office with travel required to various project sites, occasionally with overnight stays required.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead commercial management of multiple high-value civil engineering projects simultaneously
Manage contract administration, including variations, claims, and final accounts
Produce detailed cost and cash flow forecasts
Negotiate and manage subcontractor agreements
Monitor project costs and value engineering opportunities
Provide commercial advice to project teams and senior management
Lead procurement activities and supplier engagement
Mentor junior quantity surveyors and commercial team members
Essential Requirements:
Proven commercial management experience in projects exceeding £10M
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related discipline
Significant heavy civil engineering project exposure to renewable energy infrastructure, highways, or marine construction
Thorough working knowledge of NEC3/4 and FIDIC contract forms
Ability to carry out detailed re-measurements in accordance with standard methods. E.g. CESSM4, NRM2 etc.
Proven track record in analysing, preparing and managing delay and disruption submissions, including detailed cost analysis and assessment of time-related costs
Demonstrable experience in analysing construction programmes, critical path analysis, and delay assessment
Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Valid driving licence
Working out of Glasgow office ideal candidate will have a willingness to travel to sites across Scotland, England and Wales for short periods at a time, where necessary.
Desirable Experience:
10 years' experience in civil engineering quantity surveying
MInstCES, MRICS or MCIArb qualified or equivalent professional qualification
Understanding of heavy civils construction techniques
Knowledge of Scottish civil engineering sector
