Exciting Opportunity for a Cardiac Clinical Nurse Specialist at NHS Fife
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and innovative nurse to join NHS Fife’s Community Cardiac Specialist Nurse Team as a Cardiac Clinical Nurse Specialist.
Service Overview
The Cardiac CNS Service operates Monday to Friday during business hours. We provide holistic and evidence-based specialist care to people diagnosed with various cardiac conditions across Fife. The service has two bases: Stratheden Hospital and Lynebank Hospital. You will be based at Stratheden but will work across Fife as required. You will participate in the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the service, aiming to improve management, treatment, and support for patients with cardiac conditions and their families or carers. The service strives to support self-management, enhance quality of life, and reduce unnecessary hospital admissions and readmissions. It provides seamless care between primary and acute care settings.
Role and Qualifications
You will be offered a Band 6 position if:
* You are an experienced Cardiac CNS with non-medical prescribing, clinical assessment, and decision-making qualifications.
* As a Band 6, supporting colleagues will be part of your role.
You will be offered a Band 6 under Annex 21 if:
* You are an experienced nurse with significant cardiology experience, educated to degree level, with evidence of recent CPD, and willing to undertake the listed qualifications. This will be done under Annex 21 (see attached for more info).
Skills and Requirements
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of the wider Health and Social Care Team.
* Ability to work autonomously, utilizing your own initiative, clinical judgment, and decision-making.
* Reliable and efficient travel across various sites, bases, and patient homes across Fife is required.
