The role will focus on identifying, managing, and progressingshort and medium-term land opportunitiesacross Yorkshire and Nottingham, supporting the delivery of high-quality residential and partnership-led developments. Role Purpose The Land Buyer will support the identification, appraisal, and acquisition of land opportunities that align with business growth and delivery targets. The successful candidate will manage and progress a pipeline of land opportunities while gaining exposure to all aspects of the land acquisition and development process. Key Responsibilities Land Identification, Pipeline Management & Acquisition Identify and research land and development opportunities across Yorkshire and Nottingham. Assist in managing a pipeline ofshort and medium-term opportunities, progressing sites from initial identification through to acquisition. Undertake initial site assessments including planning potential, constraints, and development viability. Support negotiations with landowners, agents, local authorities, and other key stakeholders. Assist in securing land opportunities on commercially viable terms. Stakeholder & Relationship Management Build and maintain relationships with landowners, agents, local authorities, and housing providers. Support attendance at external meetings, networking events, and industry functions. Assist with partnership opportunities and tender submissions where required. Due Diligence & Appraisal Support the coordination of technical, planning, legal, and commercial due diligence. Assist with financial appraisals and development viability assessments. Work collaboratively with internal technical, commercial, and delivery teams to support project progression. Market Research & Reporting Monitor land market activity, planning policy changes, and competitor activity. Maintain accurate records of land opportunities and pipeline reporting systems. Provide market insight to support land strategy and business planning. Governance & Compliance Ensure land acquisitions follow internal approval processes and governance procedures. Support preparation of reports and documentation for internal approvals. Skills & Experience Degree qualified or equivalent within Real Estate, Planning, Property Development, or related discipline. Approximately23 years experiencewithin land, planning, development, or a related property role. Understanding of residential development and planning processes. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Commercial awareness and analytical ability. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities.
