The Post Holder should :
1. Be a registered nurse with experience of working in the theatre environment and who has the skills and knowledge to adhere to national guidelines relating to safety and environmental requirements.
2. Ability to be organised and efficient to ensure service demands are met.
3. Participate in clinical sessions assisting with dermatology surgery and specialist dermatology clinics.
Main duties of the job
4. Participate in clinical practice shifts in dermatology surgical and outpatients clinics ( minor surgery, MOHS, wound management, leg ulcer management and obtaining biopsies )
5. Chaperone during procedures or patient assessments
6. Communicate with patients and relatives concerning assessment's treatment and procedures
7. Be a patient advocate and ensure best interests are considered
8. Ensure consent process is adhered to and that the patient has a full understanding of procedure
9. Adhere to infection control, medicines management and Health & Safety policies
10. undertake all the necessary mandatory training to ensure required competencies
11. Once competent to undertake minor surgical procedures

12. NMC Registered Nurse
13. Relevant post registration course – (e.g. Dermatology degree or dermatology complex surgical course
14. Relevant post registration course – (e.g. Dermatology degree or dermatology complex surgical course
15. Leadership & Management course/ willingness and ability to undertake training to undertake training within set timetable
EXPERIENCE e.g. Breadth of occupational experience
Essential criteria
16. Minimum 3 years post registration experience in Dermatology
17. Experience of autonomous practice and decision making
18. Previous experience of undertaking Dermatology related surgery
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE

19. Ability to communicate complex and highly sensitive information
20. Skills and knowledge in managing and supporting patients with Dermatology conditions
21. Evidence of undertaking audits and evaluating data
