Senior Manual Machinist:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manual Machinist to join a fantastic manufacturing company in Fareham.
Introduction
The primary role of the Senior Manual Machinist will be to produce parts within specification to component drawings, using technical expertise, written procedures (SOP) and quality measurement equipment. You'll have an excellent understand and working knowing of Manual Machining and will provide support to the Production Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
* Setting and running manual lathes, manual mills (vertical and horizontal) and workshop equipment including handheld / fixed cutting machinery including Band and Circular saws, grinders and sanders and ensure all equipment is used in accordance with Risk Assessments and good practice.
* Participates in 5S methodology and ensures work areas are clean, tidy and health and safety compliant
* Support the Production Supervisor with the training and development of the Machining Technicians.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings including GD&T requirements, work instructions, SOPs, COSHH assessments and RAs.
Ideal Experience:
Although training will be provided the ideal candidate will have extensive experience of manual machining including manual lathes and mills.
Experience of machining high precision and high value, low volume components, excellent PC skills and strong communication skills would be preferred. Any previous training of teams would be an advantage.
Salary: £38,000
