You will be joining an established and well-respected civil engineering contractor based in the Birmingham area. This multi-accredited contractor specialises in the delivery of infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects within the water industry and offers a strong pipeline of AMP8 works as well as exposure to high-profile frameworks and bespoke projects. This is an exciting opportunity to spearhead performance across AMP8 projects while driving operational efficiency.
This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Birmingham office with the option for flexible working.
Your new role
As amercial Manager, you will drive forward themercial and financial management of clean and waste water projects across the programme. You'll be trusted to work proactively, reporting into senior leaders on portfolio performance, advising project teams and helping to drive strategic plans.
Your day-to-day will include:
1. Leading themercial management of projects, ensuring financial performance, value delivery andpliance with business targets
2. Heading subcontractor procurement and contract administration, from tender evaluation through to ongoingmercial oversight and performance management
3. Developing and implementingmercial strategies that maximise profitability and proactively mitigatemercial and contractual risks
4. Overseeing contract management and negotiations, including NEC and other standard forms of contract, ensuring clear obligations and protections are in place
5. Managing all finances, including budgets, cost forecasting, cashflow andmercial reporting to support informed decision-making.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will bring:
6. Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts, including Options A and C
7. Excellent problem-solving and financial skills, including forecasting and budgeting
8. Ability to simplifyplex issues and influence stakeholders effectively
9. Sound leadership, negotiation and interpersonal skills
10. Full UK driving licence.
