Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in the West Midlands for a DSG Specialist Support Accountant to join the team on a temporary basis. The postholder will support in the management of the DSG and Education teams on a predominantly remote basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert support in the production of the DSG management plan, ensuring the financial model is accurate, robust, and based on reliable data.
* Lead scenario planning and develop financial models for the Medium-Term Financial Plan (MTFP).
* Collaborate closely with the Education team, Children's Services Finance Business Partner, and DSG funding coordinator to deliver comprehensive financial analysis.
* Offer ongoing support to Education post the submission of the plan in June, contributing to strategic financial planning activities.
Candidate Criteria
* Qualified Accountant (CIPFA/ACCA/ACA)
* Proven experience in financial modelling, scenario planning, and budget management
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
