We are currently seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join our growing team.
Key Responsibilities
* Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
* Raise purchase orders (POs) and ensure order acknowledgements align with company systems and processes.
* Maintain continuous supply of required materials and communicate potential supply issues at daily production meetings.
* Research and evaluate opportunities to reduce costs and improve business and supplier on‑time delivery (OTD).
* Deliver daily briefs, supplier updates, and monthly variance reports.
* Develop and monitor supplier performance metrics; conduct reviews and manage improvement activities.
* Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date supplier order books and delivery schedules.
* Resolve invoicing discrepancies between POs, delivery notes (DN), and invoices.
* Act as the main point of contact for supplier quality issues, ensuring timely corrective actions and preventing reoccurrences.
* Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms of business with suppliers using procurement best‑practice tools and methods.
* Participate in Make vs. Buy analyses to optimise sourcing decisions.
* Review and manage supplier terms and conditions (T&Cs) for compliance and awareness.
* Collaborate with design and engineering teams to communicate cost implications of engineering changes.
* Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the procurement and inventory management modules within the MRP system.
* Work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure inventory levels meet operational requirements while minimising excess stock.
* Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of supply‑chain systems and processes, ensuring scalability as the company grows.
* Engage and negotiate with stakeholders and suppliers on new projects and initiatives, advising on purchasing and production impacts.
* Ensure compliance with AS9100D supplier quality standards across all purchasing and supplier‑management activities.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven purchasing experience within an aerospace, or advanced manufacturing environment.
* Membership of CIPS (preferred).
* Experience working with AS9100D‑certified suppliers and understanding of aerospace quality management systems.
* Strong background in inventory management and MRP/ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, SAP, or similar).
* Demonstrated success in implementing and improving supply‑chain systems and processes.
* Highly skilled at building and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
* Analytical and numerically astute with strong problem‑solving abilities.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and influencing skills.
* Results‑driven, with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
* Experience in start‑up or high‑growth environments is highly advantageous.
* Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of defining best practices within a developing organisation.
* Commercially and financially aware.
Security Clearance
This position requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance. Eligibility for SC clearance typically requires continuous UK residency for at least 5 years, and the ability to pass government background checks conducted by UK Security Vetting (UKSV).
