Production Engineer

£42,000 – £45,000 + Benefits

Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Guildford, is currently seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join their engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with a strong manufacturing background to play a key role in improving production efficiency, supporting new product introduction, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Key Responsibilities
* Support and improve day-to-day manufacturing operations
* Identify and resolve production and process issues
* Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities
* Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation and work instructions
* Support new product introduction (NPI) into production
* Work closely with quality, design, and operations teams
* Analyse production data to improve efficiency and reduce downtime
* Ensure compliance with quality and health & safety standards
Candidate Requirements
* Previous experience in a Production Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or similar role
* Strong understanding of manufacturing and production processes
* Experience within a fast-paced engineering or manufacturing environment
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
* Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) preferred
Desirable Experience
* Precision engineering, aerospace, electronics, or related industry background
* Experience with ERP/MRP systems
* Knowledge of root cause analysis and process validation
