Consultant Histopathologist - Suffolk, England
We are seeking a highly experienced Consultant Histopathologist to work as a locum contractor for East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation NHS Trust at Ipswich Hospital. This on‑site role offers 10 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with hourly pay between £100 and £125 per hour (PAYE).

 * Shifts: Full Time, Monday to Friday (10 hours per week)
 * Location: Ipswich Hospital
On‑site general consultant Histopathologist for 10 PA/40 hrs a week (Mon to Fri). Reporting cases only (no dissection/MDT typically); no remote working. Must be on specialist register, hold FRCPath Part 2, and have full right to work in the UK.

Main Duties/Responsibilities
 * Actively support patients and their families, communicating clinical information to explain a diagnosis.
 * Lead and work within a multidisciplinary team where appropriate.
 * Assess and prioritise patient/client requirements, delegating effectively to others.
 * Examine patients, using diagnostic skills to determine required tests.
 * Support and advise clinical staff on the use and limitations of each diagnostic investigation.
 * Interpret test results and assess the appropriateness of further investigations.
 * Deliver clinical care to patients where needed and conduct ward rounds and outpatient clinics.
 * Oversee smooth running of the Pathology Department, planning workload and staffing requirements.
 * Supervise and teach junior medical staff as required.
 * Carry out research and keep up to date with new information.
 * Adhere to the NMC professional code of conduct.
Qualifications / Licences / Certifications (Essential)
 * GMC registered Doctor with full licence to practice.
 * Must hold FRCPath Part 2.
 * Completion of higher training (CCT or within 6 months of obtaining).
 * Applicants without CCT registration must have prior experience at consultant grade and hold FRCPath Part 2.
 * Evidence of Right to Work in the UK (visas not considered).
 * Pass an enhanced background check (DBS).
 * Willing to work as PAYE only; not as a limited company.
