About the Role
As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer at our Warnham site, you will be fully trained to work with our specialised tools and machinery to turn raw materials into products ready for use in the construction industry. You will become an expert on the machinery and support your colleagues to produce high quality results.
You will be hands-on with the day to day operations of our manufacturing site; operate various factory machinery, equipment and forklifts whilst ensuring high levels of health and safety at all times.
We will provide you with full training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to enable you to safely and effectively work as a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer where you will
About the Role
Carry out essential maintenance working through a programme of PPM
Assist in developing the agility maintenance system
Attend breakdowns
Ensure machine safety standards are kept to the highest level and ensure critical spares are maintained
Install / maintain electrical & electro-mechanical plant machinery
Improve factory OEE through development and innovation of the production facility
Operate a preventative electrical maintenance system
Program Siemens / other PLC equipment
Use various types of testing equipment to locate and remedy faults
Promote Lean thinking and actively look for ways to improve efficiencies
Actively contribute to the creation and review of RA and SSOW
Ensure adherence to Wienerbergers quality system & standards in accordance with BSEN ISO 9001
Thissiteproduces bricks, supporting our manufacturing of high-quality building materials across the UK.
This position is based at our Warnhamsite, which is near to Horsham, andKingsfold, easily commutable from Crawley, Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, and Worthing.
Due to the site location, it is accessible by personal vehicles only. Free parking is available.
Hours: 6.00am to 6.00pm on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern
About You
Preferably you will be apprentice trained, but with a minimum level 3 qualification in an Engineering discipline. Successful candidates will be asked to provide copies of their relevant qualifications / carry out competence assessments
ONC/BTEC HNC/BTEC or equivalent in Electrical engineering
17 th / 18 th edition qualified
Sound knowledge of Siemens PLCs s7 TIA portal
Time served Electricianwith experience of working in a manufacturing environment ideally heavy manufacturing (clay, refractory, quarrying, cement) or FMCG
Team player and strong communicator
Good exposure to health & safety standards
Excellent analytical & fault finding / problem solving skills
Good working knowledge of EHS
Passionate about improvement with knowledge of Lean manufacturing
Analytical & problem-solving skills
Good knowledge of electric motors / pneumatics
Sound mechanical knowledge and skills
