Your new role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a growing engineering team based in Glasgow. You will provide electrical design expertise, technical guidance, and project support across a variety of refurbishment and fit‑out projects. This role is office‑based.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Producing detailed electrical building services designs including lighting, power, containment, fire alarms, security systems, data installations, and LV distribution.
2. Carrying out electrical load calculations, cable sizing, lighting calculations, and equipment selection using industry‑standard software.
3. Preparing technical drawings, schematics, and design documentation in line with project specifications.
4. Conducting site surveys to assess existing installations and support accurate design development.
5. Ensuring all electrical designsply with BS 7671, building regulations, and relevant industry standards.
6. Supporting project teams with technical input from concept through to installation andmissioning.
7. Liaising with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure smooth design coordination and technical clarity.
8. Assisting with tender stages by producing design information and electrical estimates when required.
9. Reviewing installation quality during construction phases and resolving technical queries.
What you'll need to succeed
10. Strong background in electrical building services engineering within contractor, consultancy, or design & build environments.
11. Solid understanding of electrical distribution, lighting design, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, data systems, and associated services.
12. Experience using relevant software such as Amtech, Dialux/Relux, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
13. Good knowledge of BS 7671 and related electrical standards and guidance.
14. Excellentmunication, coordination, and problem‑solving skills.
15. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.
16. Full right to work in the UK.
