Your New Role
We are on the lookout for a Senior Director, Legal, Intellectual Property to lead trademark, copyright, and IP policy matters across EMEA. Based in the UK, you will provide essential legal guidance on global trademark portfolios, disputes, enforcement, and copyright issues, while collaborating closely with executive stakeholders and external counsel. This role is pivotal in shaping IP policy across the EMEA region.
Your Role Accountabilities
* Provide strategic legal guidance on trademark selection, use, clearance, prosecution, and global portfolio management.
* Lead and manage global trademark and copyright disputes, oppositions, cancellations, and infringements.
* Offer subject-matter expertise on trademark and copyright litigation matters.
* Advise on international production and marketing clearance issues, including freedom of panorama.
* Manage IP Policy issues for the EMEA region, including reviewing legislative and regulatory developments.
* Oversee relationships with relevant trade associations on IP Policy issues, setting MPA EMEA strategy.
Qualifications & Experience
* UK qualified Solicitor or Barrister with strong experience in IP law (trademark, brand protection, copyright).
* Knowledge of IP policy issues facing the media and entertainment industry.
* Extensive experience counseling clients at all levels, with a proven ability to be a trusted advisor on IP issues.
Working Conditions
This role is offered as a Hybrid work model, combining remote and in-office work, in line with our current company policy and as agreed with your Line Manager. Please note that WBD reserves the right to adjust this working agreement based on business needs, with reasonable notice.
