Trinity Academy Grammar is an ambitious and inclusive 11-16 school that, for the first time in the school’s history, is over-subscribed with over 1,000 students on roll; having grown this number from 650 when we first started since becoming part of the Trinity Multi-Academy Trust.
Since then, Trinity Academy Grammar has had a plethora of successes. In February 2023 Ofsted graded the academy as good with outstanding features in leadership and personal development. This followed being awarded the World Class School mark in 2021. These transformational changes mean that it is an exciting time to join the academy, we are incredibly proud of our successes, and we are looking for the best people to work alongside our already committed team to continue our journey.
The school is committed to providing an outstanding education for its students and is guided by the core values of Empathy, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility, which permeate every aspect of school life.
We are currently seeking to appoint a SEND and Literacy Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our team, at Trinity Academy Grammar. Reading and writing is at the heart of everything we do. This plays an even more crucial role when students need additional support to access the reading and writing demands of the mainstream curriculum, in line with their peers. This role encompasses both the development of literacy across the academy itself, as well as developing the ongoing reading and writing skills of students with SEND.
This position will include working 1:1 with students in bespoke interventions designed to develop their reading and writing, whilst also conducting small group interventions with students across the academy and supporting in our alternative literacy/SEND provisions. At TAG, this person will play a crucial role in developing the literacy progress of some of the most vulnerable students in the academy. They will need to be committed, team-focused and driven to raise progress in reading and writing for students with SEND and wider needs.
What we need:
* Good numeracy and literacy
* Ability to relate well to children and young people
* Experience of working with, or caring for children or young people of a relevant age
What can we offer you?
* An opportunity to help shape the transformation of Trinity Academy Grammar
* Full support from a dedicated team of senior leaders and a large pastoral team
* Career progression and cross-trust working
* A range of staff benefits, including an Electric Car scheme, Cycle to Work scheme, reduced-cost health cover, access to free counselling and access to the excellent local government pension scheme
Our vision is to be the most transformational academy in England. If you would like to be part of our journey, we look forward to hearing from you.
