Roles and Responsibilities

* Assist in the delivery of a high quality Cardiac Investigations service to inpatients and outpatients of University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust – Worthing Hospital.
* Work towards becoming an independent Cardiac Physiologist/Healthcare Science Practitioner within a wide range of investigations including echocardiography, pacemaker, ICD and complex device interrogation and follow‑up with supervision; train and assist in PPM/ICD/CRT device implant procedures; assist in all invasive investigations in the Cardiac Catheter Lab and assist in providing comprehensive reports.
* Work towards leading in Exercise Tolerance Testing as well as undertaking Holter analysis and reporting.
* Organise and manage own workload.
* Be conversant with Cardiac Arrest protocol.
* Assist in the supervision and training of other staff and healthcare professionals where required.
* Provide a role model for the Trust's values, Patient First approach, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and inclusive leadership.
* Communicate effectively with patients to obtain their consent and cooperation, including patients with physical/learning disabilities, children or confused patients.
* Communicate effectively with relatives of patients.
* Promote a pleasant and efficient image during all dealings with internal and external organisations.
* Develop good working relationships with other departments within the Trust.
* Participate in the cardiac department meetings.
* Liaise proactively with line manager and colleagues regarding any issues/areas of concern.
