Assistant HR Manager at Thompsons Solicitors Scotland
Location:Glasgow or Edinburgh (training will begin in Glasgow up to a maximum of six weeks)
Contract:Full Time - Permanent
Hours:34.5 hours per week+ 2 hours 15 minutes mandatory overtime per week
Are you ready to take the next step in your career? We are pleased to announce an exciting new opportunity for a Supervisor within our Legal Enquiries Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a small team and supporting departmental goals.
About the Legal Enquiries Team
The Legal Enquiries Team is the first point of contact for individuals seeking legal advice or looking to pursue a potential case. The team plays a vital role in assessing new enquiries, offering initial guidance, and directing individuals to the appropriate legal support within the firm. By providing a professional, responsive, and empathetic service, the team ensures that every potential client receives the best possible start to their legal journey with us.
Key Responsibilities:
* Guide and support a small team of legal enquiry professionals.
* Foster a positive and productive work environment.
* Address and resolve any team-related issues.
2. Performance Management:
* Monitor and evaluate team performance.
* Set performance goals and provide constructive feedback.
3. Work Allocation:
* Distribute tasks equitably among team members.
* Ensure deadlines are met and maintain high-quality standards.
4. Training and Development:
* Identify training needs and arrange appropriate development opportunities.
* Support the professional growth of your team members.
5. Communication:
* Act as a liaison between your team and upper management.
* Communicate important information to your team effectively.
6. Problem Solving:
* Handle operational issues within the team.
* Implement solutions to improve efficiency and report to upper management.
7. Reporting:
* Prepare regular performance reports.
* Highlight concerns or areas for improvement to upper management.
Core Hours:
34.5 hours per week plus 2 hours 15 minutes additional overtime (one late night finish per week of 7pm and a rotated 5:30pm finish on a Friday).
8.45am - 4.45pm, Monday - Thursday.
8.45am - 4.15pm on a Friday.
Hybrid Working:
To begin with, the successful candidate will be based in our Glasgow office full time for a maximum of 8 weeks for training. Once training is complete, the applicant can move to hybrid working if preferred and would be allowed to work from home two days per week (subject to business needs).
