We are recruiting a BIM Lead to play a pivotal role on the Sizewell C project — a nationally significant nuclear new build that sits at the heart of the UK’s Net Zero ambitions.
This role can be based in London or Bristol, with hybrid working available.
This is a high-impact leadership role, responsible for shaping and delivering the engineering data and BIM workstream across a complex, multi-disciplinary programme, ensuring compliance with the UK Information Management Mandate and embedding future-proof digital engineering practices across the project and its supply chain.
Purpose
As BIM Lead, you will act as the engineering focal point for BIM strategy, standards, and data management, ensuring engineering information is accurate, consistent, compliant, and fit for purpose throughout the asset lifecycle.
You will work closely with internal teams, the main works contractor, and a diverse supply chain to align stakeholders, improve digital ways of working, and support the successful implementation of BIM platforms and 3D collaboration environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Build strong relationships with internal teams, NSA contractor, and supply chain.
* Support delivery of a BIM‑compliant 3D collaboration environment.
* Shape and manage engineering digital requirements and EIRs.
* Align diverse stakeholders on BIM goals, standards, and strategy.
* Provide training and act as the Technical Directorate’s BIM contact.
* Manage team workload, KPIs, risks, and opportunities.
* Contribute to SZC’s BIM vision, strategy, and roadmap
Qualifications & Requirements
* Degree in a science/engineering field + 10+ years relevant experience.
* Strong understanding of ISO 19650 and related data standards.
* Experience with 3D design, BIM, or PLM tools.
* Knowledge of configuration management and end‑to‑end engineering delivery.
* Ability to analyse complex problems and drive pragmatic solutions.
* Understanding of challenges from major capital/nuclear projects.
* Ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
Desirable Experience
* Background in nuclear, aerospace, automotive, defence, or major infrastructure projects
* Familiarity with the UK Information Management Mandate
* Systems engineering mindset and awareness of emerging digital technologies
