Key Responsibilities
Operational Management : Oversee all daily depot operations, ensuring targets for safety, quality, efficiency, and customer service are consistently met.
Team Leadership : Lead, mentor, and motivate the depot team, including drivers, warehouse staff, and administrative personnel. Conduct performance reviews and manage staffing levels.
Compliance & Safety : Ensure strict adherence to all transport legislation, health and safety regulations, and company policies. Maintain the required standards for the Operator's Licence (O Licence).
Fleet Management : Manage the maintenance, service, and compliance of the vehicle fleet.
Budget & Cost Control : Monitor and manage depot expenditure, seeking opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reduction.
Customer Service : Act as a key point of contact for local customers, resolving issues quickly and effectively to maintain high levels of satisfaction.
What You'll Need
CPC Qualified
Proven, substantial experience in a management role within a fast-paced logistics, transport, or distribution environment.
A strong understanding of UK transport regulations, compliance, and H&S legislation.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
A track record of managing budgets, driving efficiencies, and implementing continuous improvement strategies.
